Honduras

Honduras is a Central American gem that rewards curious travelers with an extraordinary range of experiences — from the world-class coral reefs of the Bay Islands to the misty cloud forests of the interior highlands. Ancient Maya civilization left its most breathtaking legacy here at Copán, one of the most artistically refined archaeological sites in all of Mesoamerica. With a rugged, largely unspoiled landscape and a warm, welcoming culture, Honduras offers the kind of authentic adventure that feels increasingly rare.

Best time to visit
The dry season from November through April brings the most reliable sunshine and calm seas, making it the ideal window for both beach stays on Roatán and highland exploration around Copán and La Tigra.
Ideal trip length
10–14 days, enough time to move meaningfully between the Caribbean coast, the ancient ruins of Copán, and the highland interior without feeling rushed.
Pairs well with

Good to know
Spanish is the official language, though the Bay Islands are largely English-speaking due to their Caribbean heritage — a handy detail for first-time visitors. Renting a 4WD vehicle is the most flexible way to explore the interior highlands, where roads can be steep and unpaved; for island hopping, small domestic flights save considerable travel time compared to ferries alone.
