I'd rather show you the real, all-in price of a main-cabin fare — where you pick your seat, sit together, and bring your bag — and explain exactly what you're paying for. That is what travel protection is for: it covers your travel investment rather than one flight. I will offer you coverage with your booking and tell you plainly what a policy does and does not do, since terms, exclusions and cost vary by provider and trip type. Declining is your decision. You sign a short waiver acknowledging the offer, and you accept responsibility for costs or losses those risks would otherwise have covered.
