Venezuela

Venezuela is a land of staggering natural contrasts, stretching from the Caribbean coastline and cloud-forested Andes to the vast Orinoco Delta and the ancient, mist-shrouded tepuis of the Gran Sabana. It is home to Angel Falls — the world's highest uninterrupted waterfall — as well as some of the most biodiverse ecosystems in the Western Hemisphere. For travelers drawn to raw, dramatic landscapes and a warm, vibrant culture, Venezuela offers experiences found nowhere else on Earth.

Best time to visit
The dry season, roughly December through April, is the best time to visit — skies are clearer, roads into remote regions like Canaima are more accessible, and Angel Falls is easiest to reach by air, though the rainy season (May–November) swells the falls to their most thunderous and photogenic.
Ideal trip length
10–14 days, because the country's major highlights — Canaima National Park, the Orinoco Delta, the Andes, and the Caribbean coast — are spread across a vast and geographically diverse territory that rewards unhurried exploration.

Good to know
Spanish is the official language and English is not widely spoken outside major tourist areas, so a handful of basic Spanish phrases goes a long way with locals. Don't overlook the Gran Sabana region in Bolívar State — its otherworldly tabletop mountains (tepuis), waterfalls, and indigenous Pemón communities make it one of South America's most extraordinary and least-visited landscapes.
