South Korea

South Korea is a destination where ancient palaces and Buddhist temples share the skyline with neon-lit cities and cutting-edge design. From the buzzing streets of Seoul to the volcanic landscapes of Jeju Island and the lantern-lit alleyways of Gyeongju, the country rewards travelers with extraordinary contrasts at every turn. A deeply proud culinary culture, a legendary wellness tradition, and some of the world's most welcoming locals make South Korea one of Asia's most compelling destinations.

Good to know
South Korea's public transportation — particularly its high-speed KTX rail network — is efficient and easy to navigate, making it straightforward to reach cities like Busan or Gyeongju from Seoul without a rental car; and while English signage is common in major cities, downloading a Korean-language keyboard and a translation app goes a long way in smaller towns and local markets.
