Seychelles

The Seychelles is an archipelago of 115 islands scattered across the Indian Ocean, where granite boulders tumble onto powder-white beaches and coral reefs pulse with color just below the surface. Few destinations on earth deliver such an immediate sense of paradise — lush jungle interiors, turquoise lagoons, and a Creole culture shaped by African, French, and Asian influences all coexist in one remarkably compact nation. Whether you base yourself on cosmopolitan Mahé, laid-back Praslin, or car-free La Digue, the islands reward slow, unhurried travel.

Ideal trip length
10–14 days, long enough to island-hop between Mahé, Praslin, and La Digue while still allowing unhurried beach and reef time on each.

Good to know
English and French are both official languages alongside Seychellois Creole, so getting around is easy for American travelers; island-hopping is done via short domestic flights or inter-island ferries, and La Digue — best explored by bicycle — is an absolute must-add to any itinerary.
