Malaysia

Malaysia is a remarkably diverse destination where ancient rainforests, colonial-era cities, and a mosaic of Malay, Chinese, and Indian cultures converge in one compact corner of Southeast Asia. From the gleaming skyline of Kuala Lumpur to the mist-shrouded highlands of Cameron Highlands and the turquoise waters off Borneo, the country rewards travelers with extraordinary variety. Its legendary street food scene alone is reason enough to book a ticket.

Good to know
English is widely spoken across Malaysia, making navigation and conversation remarkably easy for American travelers; when visiting mosques or rural kampung villages, modest dress is both respectful and expected. Don't overlook Malaysian Borneo — Sabah and Sarawak offer some of the world's best wildlife encounters and longhouse cultural experiences that the Peninsula simply cannot replicate.
