Cuba

Cuba is a one-of-a-kind Caribbean island where Spanish colonial architecture, vintage American cars, and a deeply musical culture converge in a way found nowhere else on earth. From the candy-colored streets of Old Havana to the lush tobacco valleys of Viñales and the white-sand beaches of Varadero, the island rewards curious travelers at every turn. Its warm, expressive people and rich artistic heritage leave a lasting impression long after the trip ends.

Good to know
Spanish is the official language and very little English is spoken outside major tourist areas, so learning a handful of phrases goes a long way. Cuba's two-region approach — the western heartland anchored by Havana and the colonial gem of Trinidad in the center-south — rewards travelers who resist the urge to rush and instead linger in each place.
