Brazil

Brazil is South America's largest country and one of the world's most diverse travel destinations, spanning the vast Amazon rainforest, sun-soaked Atlantic coastline, and vibrant urban centers. From the iconic beaches of Rio de Janeiro to the wildlife-rich Pantanal wetlands, every region offers a dramatically different experience. Its warm, welcoming culture — shaped by Indigenous, African, and Portuguese influences — pulses through the food, music, and festivals that define daily life.

Best time to visit
The dry season from May through September brings cooler, less humid weather across most of the country and ideal conditions for wildlife spotting in the Pantanal and trekking in the Amazon.
Ideal trip length
12–16 days, because Brazil's sheer geographic scale rewards travelers who can explore at least two or three distinct regions rather than rushing through one.

Good to know
Portuguese — not Spanish — is the national language, so learning a few basic phrases goes a long way with locals; domestically, regional flights are the most practical way to bridge the enormous distances between the Amazon, the Northeast coast, and the South.
